Seizing Opportunities at JP Morgan Week
The annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, held from January 13 to 16, 2025, in San Francisco, served as a pivotal gathering for leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
The event provided a platform for industry stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, regulatory changes, and investment opportunities shaping the future of healthcare.
In conjunction with the main conference, several auxiliary events enriched the week’s offerings, featuring expert insights into the opportunities and challenges facing the biopharma and healthcare industries, and emphasizing the impact of new U.S. regulations and evolving deal trends.
Two startups from The Ganesha Lab participated in highly visible events: TELL, which revolutionizes early detection of neurodegenerative disorders via AI-assisted speech biomarkers; and Amplify Dinamics, which leads pharmaceutical innovation with a novel automated nanoparticle filtration system using ultrasound. Both companies achieved excellent outcomes and gained valuable insights from their participation in the event.
Adolfo García, CSO and co-founder of TELL, pitched at IndieBio’s Biomixer and then at UC Davis’s Venture Catalyst Biotech Innovation Gallery (in both cases, by direct invitation among a select group of cutting-edge startups from across the globe). His presentations highlighted TELL’s vision, achievements, and goals, leading to discussions with investors and a pharmaceutical company. He emphasized the value of networking, industry insights, and learning from others.
García also credited much of TELL’s growth to their participation in the BIGinBIO Program by The Ganesha Lab, which provided key opportunities and enhanced credibility. He concluded that while geographic differences affect access to opportunities, Latin American startups like TELL match their U.S. counterparts in potential and innovation.
Gustavo Vasquez, CEO of Amplify Dynamics, highlighted the importance of being part of The Ganesha Lab’s portfolio and participating in BIGinBIO. He noted that with the support of Senior Portfolio Manager Camilo Anabalón, they identified key challenges that helped them enhance their positioning.
Amplify Dynamics, previously represented by its CBO Sebastián Saldarriaga at RESI Boston, also took part in RESI San Francisco, a key side event during JP Morgan Week. Vásquez represented the company exceptionally well, and also achieved excellent outcomes and gained valuable insights from the participation in the event.
By participating in various accessible events, the company strengthened its presence, built momentum, and furthered its goal of securing funding and scaling operations. «The broader healthcare focus of JP Morgan Week demanded a more strategic approach compared to Boston’s biotech-centric event. It provided us with increased visibility and continuity, as previous interactions helped foster stronger connections and demonstrate our progress to investors and partners,» concluded Gustavo.
