metaBIX Biotech expands into Brazil
metaBIX Biotech, a startup focused on biotechnology for agriculture, has made a pivotal move in its expansion by entering the competitive Brazilian market, after completing market fit tests in Ecuador and Uruguay.
The company identified Brazil as a high-demand, high-value market, contributing 41% to global food production growth. The startup currently has one customer in the country and is close to finalizing deals with four additional companies.
With a specialized team in animal production established in Brazil just a month ago, metaBIX aims to provide biotechnological solutions to enhance sanitary management on farms, through their non-invasive technology, anticipating diseases with high precision, which allows veterinarians to implement efficient measures to prevent significant losses in animal production.
«Brazil, as one of the world’s leading meat exporters, is a critical market for us. The country plays a major role in driving global food production, and we believe our technological solutions can help meet this challenge,» stated Laura Macció, CEO of metaBIX Biotech.
The metaBIX sales team in Brazil includes seasoned professionals with over 25 years of expertise, specializing in swine and poultry sectors, and plans to expand into other vital areas of agriculture. Additionally, the startup has initiated discussions with laboratories and strategic partners in the country to deploy its advanced diagnostic technology.
With its entry into Brazil, where it has already established an agreement with the Centro de Diagnóstico de Sanidade Animal (CeDISA) laboratory, metaBIX Biotech strengthens its commitment to turning biotechnology into practical, scalable tools that enhance global food safety. The company also plans to expand into other major meat-producing markets, including the United States and India.
