Expanding our impact through strategic advisory
After supporting seven generations of startups through The Ganesha Lab, in 2024, our Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner, Markus Schreyer, alongside Senior Portfolio Managers Camilo Anabalón and Matías Rothhammer, expanded their reach by offering commercial advisory services to biotech startups at various stages—beyond those meeting the criteria for our signature program, BIGinBIO.
This initiative led to Sticta becoming the first startup to receive tailored business advice while also participating in the DeepTech Summit Brazil 2024 trade mission. Sticta, an innovative company rooted in synthetic biology and precision fermentation, has benefited significantly from this collaboration.
According to Andrés Ariztía, CEO and co-founder of Sticta, “We have found a key ally in The Ganesha Lab to advance our growth and global expansion. They have been a pillar in developing our value proposition and preparing us to attract investors and strategic clients.”
Ariztía highlighted that the decision to work with The Ganesha Lab was clear due to their specialized focus on biotechnology and their strong reputation in Chile and Latin America’s startup ecosystem. He added, “Their team has proven experience and success, which made this collaboration a natural choice.”
A focus on innovation and global impact
Together with Matías Rothhammer, Senior Portfolio Manager for Agro and Food Tech, Sticta has worked to refine its value proposition and align it with the interests of potential investors. As a result, the startup has achieved critical milestones, including preparing to patent its first product—a groundbreaking, sustainable insulin—in Europe. This insulin, developed using advanced protein engineering and artificial intelligence, is designed to be highly resistant to temperature changes, offering significant advantages in various applications.
Sticta’s focus on creating low-cost, sustainable solutions has positioned it as a leader in the food and agricultural biotech industry. By transforming microorganisms, such as yeast, into productive bio-structures, the company is redefining possibilities in these sectors.
New horizons through strategic initiatives
Through its participation in The Ganesha Lab’s trade mission to the DeepTech Summit Brazil 2024, Sticta gained valuable insights into the Brazilian market and the region’s burgeoning biotechnology industry. Brazil has emerged as a critical market for their innovative “Smart Insulin,” and this experience has laid the groundwork for potential expansion.
Matías Rothhammer emphasized that he and Markus Schreyer have prioritized providing Sticta with strategic support. This includes opening doors to international markets, connecting them with mentors and investors, and fostering collaborations with industry leaders.
This collaboration exemplifies The Ganesha Lab’s mission to empower science-based startups and drive impactful innovations that address global challenges.
