After being granted the Excellence Award from the 8th generation of the BIGinBIO program, Delee, a medical device company that has developed two devices for efficiently isolating and analyzing circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from patient blood samples, gained the opportunity to participate in the RESI JP Morgan 2024 Conference. The event, sponsored by The Ganesha Lab, took place from January 5 to 7 in San Francisco, California.

The RESI Conferences, organized by our partner Life Science Nation (LSN) connect early-stage start-ups with investors and strategic channel partners, maximizing fundraising companies’ efforts to find partners who are a fit for their technology and stage of development.

Reflecting on the experience, Juan Felipe Yee, CMO of Delee, the first company to be invested in by our affiliated Venture Capital fund, stated that «it was both impressing and motivating. Seeing such a large event exclusively dedicated to life sciences was exceptional for me. Thanks to the interactions with several investors and experts, I confirmed that our business model and project development are on the right path.»

Juan Felipe also commented that » I had the opportunity to meet accelerators and investors that I would not have had access to had I not been at the RESI Conference, and I expect good results in our investment round, because I connected with major investors who have shown real interest after the event in San Francisco.”

Despite the experience being very demanding for the founder, “especially the in-person activities on the first day combining my presence at our Demo Table while meeting with investors that showed interest even before the event”, he was also able to create new connections with potential collaborators among other startups.

Juan Felipe had the opportunity to pitch on one of the stages during the first day, presenting Delee’s advancements to a jury and an audience focused on life sciences developments. The next two days of the RESI JP Morgan 2024 Conference were virtual, Juan Felipe highlighted that «I held new meetings with investors and experts, that had seen our presentation in the event’s landing page.»

All in all, Juan Felipe stated that «it was an enriching and affirming experience for our company. All the experts and investors I engaged with were impressed by Delee’s work, recognizing our level of development and achievements thus far, despite operating on a limited budget. I am certain that we will have concrete results in the short or medium term following our participation in RESI JP Morgan Week”.
