The ear-safe test developed by Trears Biomarkers is the first earwax self-sampling device to measure long-term levels of several biomarkers of pandemic chronic diseases, such as diabetes (glucose) and depression (cortisol).
To date, results show that this device is 59% more accurate in reflecting chronic glucose levels compared to glycosylated hemoglobin or HbA1c obtained from blood and, relative to hair samples, the Trears test required 8 times fewer man-hours to measure chronic cortisol, making it cost-effective.
