Introducing our new Board of Directors
The Ganesha Lab has renewed its Board of Directors, incorporating three new members with extensive experience in the region’s entrepreneurial and business landscape: Alejandra Pérez, Roberto Braga-Mendes and Christoph Schiess.
Markus Schreyer, CEO of The Ganesha Lab, emphasized the importance of regularly reviewing a company’s board of directors, stating that “every company must regularly review its board. It’s a natural process to ensure its capabilities represent the strategic needs of the company. In recent years, we have grown significantly in terms of our image, our presence in Latin America, and the capabilities of our team”.
Schreyer explained that the company is at a pivotal moment in its journey. “For us, the fundamental question was what we expect from the company going forward. Today, we are much more than an accelerator: we are recognized as value creators for startups and companies,” he stated.
This growth and recognition have pushed The Ganesha Lab to plan its next steps, particularly in terms of expansion. “We are at a crucial moment to define our growth path, whether that means expanding regionally, translating the accumulated knowledge into additional value generating services or growing with our international industry partnerships” Schreyer explained.
In light of this objective, the incorporation of Roberto Braga-Mendes, a Brazilian business executive, marks a strategic move toward solidifying the company’s presence in Brazil. Schreyer pointed out that “Braga-Mendes’ knowledge and network will be pivotal in the understanding of the Brazilian and broader Latin American market dynamics, providing crucial guidance as The Ganesha Lab aims to reach the above-mentioned ecosystem and establish strong relationships within the industry, a critical element in our expansion strategy”.
Another valuable addition to the Board is Christoph Schiess, a renowned Chilean-German entrepreneur and respected businessman with extensive experience in creating and scaling businesses. Schiess has significantly impacted the success of Endeavor Chile during his presidency, a global organization known for helping companies and entrepreneurs grow. This adds significant value to The Ganesha Lab’s ambitions. “His track record of developing successful and profitable businesses makes his incorporation a critical strategic contribution to our future,” Schreyer added.
Alejandra Pérez, who has been previously involved with the board, re-joins the team to ensure continuity in the company’s trajectory. “Alejandra has a lot of experience with companies and specifically as member of boards of directors. Her return provides continuity to our history, as she was part of the original board when we founded The Ganesha Lab,” Schreyer said. Pérez´ incorporation is significant to represent the investors of The Ganesha Lab, ensuring their interests are aligned with the company’s future growth.
Looking ahead, The Ganesha Lab is focused on defining its next strategic objectives. Among the priorities are increasing its offerings for startups and expanding its presence across Latin America, particularly in Brazil. Schreyer also revealed ambitions to strengthen connections beyond the region, stating that “we aim to give our portfolio the opportunity to expand beyond the United States and into Europe as well.
With its new Board of Directors, The Ganesha Lab is well-positioned to take the next steps in its development. The strategic additions of Braga-Mendes, Schiess, and the return of Pérez underscore the company’s commitment to expanding its reach while maintaining its core mission: supporting innovative Latin American startups, transforming science in a good business that can impact the lives of millions of people worldwide.
The future is bright for The Ganesha Lab, and its new board will undoubtedly play a key role in shaping the company’s trajectory in the years to come.
